NETMA stands for Nobody Ever Tells Me Anything.
The official Stuco blog! Here we'll keep you up-to-date on the latest news from Stuco and even recap you on past events. We'll give you links and feature the new WAYLT. Enjoy the blog!
In our quest for a better name for "The Bulletin", we, or I actually, came up with NETMA which stands for "Nobody Ever Tells Me Anything". It's not actually original, I confess, but it's a name that I really like. It originally came from the youth newsletter at my old church. It was pretty cool and I enjoyed reading it because it went beyond being just a newspaper, just like this is going to go beyond being just a blog. I actually intend to transplant a few ideas from that newsletter into the Post, which I've taken over. Speaking of newspaper:
Well, I promised with every post to include a little bit of fun and WAYLT (What Are You Listening To?), which you should include in your comment. Anyway, here's a fun video for you to enjoy:
Oh, yes. My WAYLT for today is: Fading Away by Demon Hunter. What's yours? And tells us what you think of the new title!
Well, vacation is only about a week in and so far it's going great for me. I've been doing a lot of nothing, which is, in other words, the perfect vacation. I trust yours is going well too.
Anyway, welcome to what is, for now, known as "The Bulletin". That's only a work-in-progress name and we're taking suggestions. The plan for now is to rename it after something that has to do with the school theme whenever that's announced. However, that might not happen because the theme might not be something you'd name a blog after. The Bulletin is going to be the official blog of the Student Council. Here, we'll update you about planned events and recap anything we did before just in case you missed out. If all goes well, we're even shooting to have this blog attached to the PACA website.
Last year the big mission of the student council was to remodel the Pop Shop and that is already underway. The big news? It should be done by the time the school year starts. With that, we're planning on having a grand opening ceremony for it, but that isn't official. I won't go into too many details, but I have personally seen the plans for the new Pop Shop and it looks awesome. Back in the day, the Pop Shop was literally the place to hang out. But now, it's run down and just not a nice place to be. That is changing probably right as you read this. I'm excited about it and I know the rest of StuCo is too!
Just because I can, here are a couple of interesting links to make you smile during your vacation!
i can has cheezburger? - official home of lolcatz. Updated daily with hilariously captioned photos of cats and other things. A truly unique experience. You haven't lived until you've seen lolcatz.
i-am-bored.com - updated daily with the best links from around the internet. Whether you want something funny or fascinating, this is the site for you because they'll take anything as long as its relatively family friendly. They will warn you if something is dirty, but it frequently is pretty clean.
Burglars - the latest "something alien" video. It was made for the film festival that took place during finals, but unfortunately it didn't appear due to technical difficulties.
We also have something I want to try called WAYLT (or What Are You Listening To). In your comments, please tell us what song you're currently listening to and give us a Youtube link for it (that's not mandatory, but we'd like to know). I'm not going to force it to be Christian, but please only post clean music. My current WAYLT is:
